When I first began coaching Executive Functioning skills, I primarily worked with children and teens. But over time, I noticed something significant: many of the parents, educators, and professionals around me were quietly struggling, too. They were overwhelmed, stressed, and stuck, not because they lacked talent or drive, but because no one had ever taught them these essential skills.
That’s why I decided to bring all the proven strategies and insights we developed at The Ladder Method into a dedicated training specifically designed for coaching adults. My mission became clear: equip caring, motivated people like you to confidently teach these powerful skills, helping adults transform overwhelm into clarity, chaos into control, and stress into lasting success.

How long will it take me to complete the course?
The course includes asynchronous learning, plus four weekends of live Zoom instruction. You can move through the recorded content at your own pace and begin applying what you learn as early as Week 1.
What if I have questions as I go through the course?
You’ll have access to a private community of peers, mentors, and expert coaches to help you at every stage.
Will I be certified at the end?
Yes. Upon completion of the coursework and live training, you’ll receive your official certification as an Executive Functioning Coach for Adults from The Ladder Method.
Yes — certification is available, and it’s earned through both knowledge + demonstrated coaching skill.
To become certified in The Ladder Method, you’ll complete two parts:
A written exam (to confirm you understand the framework, concepts, and decision-making)
A live “teach-back” assessment where you coach in real time and demonstrate that you can apply the system accurately (not just describe it)
Certification requirements:
You must earn an 85% or higher to become certified.
Advanced eligibility:
If you score 95% or higher, you’ll be considered eligible to work directly with The Ladder Method (if you’re interested), and we can also support you with guidance as you build your coaching business.
This process is designed to ensure that certified coaches don’t just “know the material” — they can teach and implement it effectively, with real clients.
What makes this training different from other coaching programs?
Most coach trainings offer helpful concepts and a handful of strategies — but then you’re left improvising in real sessions: What’s the actual executive functioning breakdown? What do I do first? How do I explain this in a way the client will use?
The Ladder Method training is different because it gives you a repeatable, adult-centered framework — plus the session tools to deliver it.
This isn’t just “what to teach.” It’s how to teach it in a way that creates change between sessions.
Here’s what makes it different:
It’s skills-based, not mindset-only.
We don’t rely on motivation or insight alone.
You’ll learn how to teach behavioral systems that support planning, task initiation, follow-through, time awareness, prioritization, and self-regulation — especially for adults with ADHD, anxiety, burnout, or cognitive overload.
It’s built for real adult constraints.
Adult clients are managing work demands, home responsibilities, mental load, and energy variability. This training shows you how to design supports that fit real schedules and real brains — not idealized routines.
It’s structured — so you’re not guessing.
You’ll learn how to quickly identify where the EF breakdown is happening (time estimation, prioritization, avoidance loops, working memory overload, emotional avoidance, unrealistic planning) and match it to the right intervention.
You get both lesson plans and scripting.
This is a major difference. You’ll walk away with ready-to-run lesson plans that map directly onto adult EF pain points — and the exact language to teach them.
That means you’ll know:
-what to say when a client is stuck in avoidance or overwhelm
- how to explain EF challenges without shaming
-how to guide a session from insight → plan → follow-through
-how to keep sessions structured, efficient, and emotionally supportive
-It focuses on rhythm-building, not perfection.
-Adults don’t need “the perfect routine.” They need recoverable systems — plans that survive deadlines, travel, ADHD days, burnout weeks, and real life.
What you’ll walk away with:
-A clear, repeatable method for diagnosing EF breakdowns in adults (and knowing what to do next)
-Lesson plans you can plug into sessions immediately
-Scripts and coaching language that help clients understand what’s happening and take action
-Tools for calendar-based routine mapping, habit scaffolding, and follow-through systems
-A stronger coaching structure — so you feel confident, consistent, and effective across clients
Bottom line: This training helps you stop collecting tips and start coaching with a method — with lesson plans and language included — so your adult clients don’t just feel supported… they build systems that make life workable.
